The Federal Co-operative College
Kaduna was established by Administrative Pronouncement of the Federal Military
Government in 1976 but it took off in 1976 for the purpose of providing the
much needed manpower in the co-operative sub-sector of the economy. The college
took off at a temporary site located at the Educational Resources Centre (E.R.C)

The Federal Co-operative College
Kaduna was established as an in Services Training Institution for the
co-operative stakeholders and the staff of Government Department Responsible for
the supervisor of the co-operative societies and co-operative development in Nigeria
and co-operative societies.
This College was established to
cater for the growing need of co-Operative Education in the North to meet this
challenge it started with courses leading to the award of Certificate in co-Operative
Studies the Diploma in Co-operative Studies Programme was later introduced to
meet the high demand for co-operative education at that level each of these
courses run for one academic year.
